Fundi’s 12412 relay race raised R100K in support of matrics’ final exams

The race was launched to raise funding that will assist matriculants with their holistic exam preparation and necessary support in the wake of Covid-19’s posed exam hurdles.

Fundi’s recent 12-for-12 relay race that was held at Thembisa Secondary School on October 27 raised R100 000.

The race was launched to raise funding that will assist matriculants with their holistic exam preparation and necessary support in the wake of Covid-19’s posed exam hurdles.

All the money raised in the build-up to the event, as well as in days that followed, are aimed to be donated to NGO Primestars.

Mala Suriah (CMO of Fundi) presented Martin Sweet (MD of Primestars) and Nkosinathi Moshoana (GM of Primestars) with the money to support the matric class of 2020 as they pursue to write their exams.

This money goes to Primestars’ national #SavingTheClassOf2020 initiative, which was launched in August in conjunction with the Department of Basic Education (DBE).

Thembisa Secondary School awakened the community with an air horn at 6am on the day of the race, signaling the start of the relay initiative.

The event united team members across Fundi in donating their time or funds towards the cause.
